Hello, I'm Bonnie Tsang. I'm a writer and narrative creator who explores how we build our inner worlds to navigate the outer one. My work is a map of the messy, beautiful, and sometimes contradictory journey of being human—as women, as parents, as artists, and as citizens.

For nearly two decades, I built a career as a photographer, collaborating with global brands like Gap, Estée Lauder, Ralph Lauren, Google, Starbucks, and Target. My work appeared in Time, Bon Appétit, The New York Times, Forbes, and InStyle, and I was named one of Time Magazine’s “Top 30 Pinterest Curators to Follow.” Along the way, I connected with an online audience of over 7 million, spoke at SXSW and Alt Summit, taught workshops, and was once invited to the White House by First Lady Michelle Obama.

My signature style of capturing people in their element with an eye for candor and connection was more than an aesthetic. It was training in the deeper work of brand storytelling: understanding the essence of a subject and translating it into something people feel.

About five years ago, I stepped away from public-facing work to focus on my family. I expected a break; instead, I found a transformation. That quiet space became a time of deep healing from a childhood shaped by cultural dislocation and a narcissistic parent. It sparked a spiritual awakening and reoriented my creative compass toward work that is not just visually compelling, but soulfully true.

Today, I blend my background in photography, my strategic mind for business marketing and branding, and my explorations with AI as a creative partner to help clients:

  • Uncover and articulate their authentic brand voice.
  • Build brand strategies that are both soulful and strategic.
  • Create visuals and campaigns that combine photography, AI-assisted art, and thoughtful design.

My own creative projects feed this work. On my Substack,True and Authentic, I write about healing, creativity, and consciousness. With Stuck On Earth, I explore midlife, burnout, and spiritual humor. Lilou & Clover is my illustrated story world blending childhood wonder with quiet emotional depth. And in How to Citizen, I translate complex political systems into clear, human terms.

Whether I’m building a brand identity, writing a civic explainer, or sketching an eight-year-old girl who talks to woodland creatures, the throughline is the same: clarity, connection, and truth. My work is an invitation to shared exploration rooted in lived experience, grounded in strategy, and open to wonder.

Thank you for being here. I’m glad we found each other.
