This series is deeply meaningful to me, as it reflects my own life experience of, in many ways, 'floating between realms' – specifically, between my Chinese heritage from Hong Kong where I spent my childhood, and my life here in the U.S. for the past 40 years. I wanted to create a visual exploration of that feeling, trying to blend Eastern and Western aesthetics or sensibilities in a way that felt personal and maybe even spiritual.

You'll see elements like floating flowers, thoughtful or contemplative figures, and washes of golden light combined in these layered images. My process involved layering my own original paintings, drawings, and photographs. For me, these scenes capture that feeling of being 'in-between', perhaps between consciousness and dream, or navigating different cultural perspectives. My hope was to create pieces that honor my heritage while embracing my life now, inviting a quiet moment where boundaries might feel a little softer, and different worlds can merge.
