This series is deeply personal for me, reflecting parts of my own journey of healing and transformation. Here, I explore what it feels like to let go of the protective walls we sometimes build around ourselves, especially those stemming from difficult past experiences like childhood trauma. I use the contrast between rigid, metallic textures dissolving into fluid, ocean-like forms as a visual metaphor for this process of softening and opening up.
The metal represents those defenses or that armor we put up, while the ocean suggests the flow of vulnerability, openness, and maybe even universal energy or love that can help dissolve those barriers. You'll see figures emerging from metallic shells or cocoons into more organic, flowing shapes, representing that moment of release and the courage it takes to embrace openness. My process involved blending my own photographs of ocean waves and metallic things with carefully chosen prompts. I wanted to create images that show how even the strongest defenses can soften when we learn to surrender, trust, and allow healing energy in. Ultimately, for me, it's about finding the courage to be vulnerable and flow with life's currents.
